Oak Field School

COVID-19 reporting at the beginning of the holiday - December 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian(s)

Thank you for everything you have done this half term to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our school – your help and support has been much appreciated. I am writing to ask you to continue to work with us over the first week of the Christmas break.

If your child/young person develops coronavirus symptoms within 2 days of their last day at school and then subsequently tests positive for COVID-19 on a PCR test or

If your child doesn’t have symptoms but tests positive on a PCR test within 2 days of their last day at school, please contact me as soon as possible on the school mobile 07940 269 275 (please note that this mobile is only to be used for Covid reporting).

For example, for pupils who attend school on Friday 17th December, this would mean notifying me of a positive PCR test or pupil symptoms developing on Friday 17th, Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th December.

Please note that PCR tests are not the Lateral Flow Tests which you can do at home daily – a PCR test needs to be booked, and is more accurate. You can find out how to get a test here: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

I will be available between Saturday 18th and Tuesday 21st December between 9am and 1pm to receive your messages.

If your child tests positive for COVID-19 on a PCR test later in the holiday, you should use the Test and Trace process, as your child/young person would not have been contagious whilst they were in school.

On Wednesday 05 January, if your child/young person has tested positive on or after Sunday 26th December, or is showing any symptoms of COVID-19, please don’t send/bring them to school but telephone the school office as soon as possible after 8am on that Wednesday

With very best wishes for a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

Yours sincerely

Patricia Lewis (Head Teacher)
