Oak Field School
CopyCAT Project (Children as Teachers!)
This summer, Oak Field School are spearheading an exciting new music and movement project that your school can join in with -‘CopyCAT’. Our intention is to achieve meaningful collaborations in choreography and music created across local organisations. We want to use new ways of working to create and maintain arts relationships in the current climate.
Music
The pupils at Oak Field are creating a rhythmic piece of music that they would like other schools to add to. Your task will be to complete the composition. There are no rules except for ensuring that the ‘CopyCAT’ theme is somehow represented in the music. This could be through choice of instrumentation or aspects of arrangement.
Dance
We want to support pupils to create, lead and share their own inclusive choreography and compositions. Workshops will consist of a reciprocal sharing and creation of movement through mirroring and other simple dance techniques. The project will involve joint pupil-led workshops using Vimeo Live, Microsoft Teams and Chrome Music Lab. Your compositions will then be used as the basis for a performance at our Summer 2021 Arts Festival – this will be a mixture of homemade-DIY events and (sadly) online sharing! We will provide free resource packs to aid planning.
What’s in it for you?
