Oak Field School

Ofsted and Performance Data

END OF KEY STAGE

As a school we are required to submit and publish data to show what our students have achieved in terms of National Curriculum Tests (as appropriate) for the pupils who were in Years 2, 6, 9 and 11 in July 2019. By submitting these outcomes, national performance tables can be produced. All of the students at end of key stage were working below the level of the tests/national expectation. This is what we would expect for pupils with severe, profound and multiple, and complex learning difficulties.

However, as a school we feel it is important to have high expectations for our pupils and to encourage them to achieve as much as they can. In order to support and monitor this through their achievement profiles, and our bespoke assessment tools.

The school has 3 data review points through the year, November, February and June. During these times progress and targets are reviewed, standardisation takes place and interventions if required are identified.

At Key Stage 4, pupils also work towards a range of accreditation units (contributing to an overarching Award, Certificate or Diploma) such as ASDAN Personal Progress and the Arts Award. Units are specifically chosen to reflect pupils’ needs, curriculum and interests. An expected level of performance is set as a target using the Achievement Continuum and progress is checked and moderated at intervals during the year. Pupils are working at pre-Entry Level to Entry Level 1, therefore below the threshold for Progress and Attainment 8 measures. Of the pupils in Year 11, 100% moved on to continue in education and training.
