Oak Field School
Dear Parent/Guardian(s)
As you know, learning about the importance of helping others is very much part of the Oak Field curriculum.
From Monday 14 - Friday 25 March, we are asking for contributions towards a shoe box appeal for Ukrainian children and young people aged 3-6, 7-10 and 11-16.
The pupils will be sorting, packing and wrapping the shoeboxes to help children and young people who are in need.
Please see the attached information, especially the photographs of essential items for pupils and their families to collect to put in the shoe boxes. The charity has asked that these items are brand new, please.
Please send in what you can - this will make a huge difference to Ukranian children and young people who have been affected by the conflict.
Shoeboxes and wrapping paper also very welcome!
Families are also very welcome to donate money in a sealed envelope marked 'Ukraine appeal' or via the School Gateway.
Nationally (see My Nottingham News) an emergency fund-raising appeal has been set up by the Disasters Emergency Committee to support Ukrainian people, and donations can be made here www.dec.org.uk. The UK Government will match pound-for-pound up to £20 million donated by the public to this appeal.
If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to contact me
Best wishes
Patricia Lewis
